Founder of International Shotokan Karate-Do Kyokai (ISKK), Ranjeet Keshari's remarkable martial arts journey began at a young age. His unwavering dedication earned him a Shodan Degree of Black Belt in 1988.In 1989, Keshari established his first Dojo “Warriors Academy”, later renamed Bushikan Dojo, with just four students. As his expertise grew, he shared his knowledge with children, youngsters, and general civilians. Subsequently in his quest for global recognition and knowledge, Keshari also became affiliated with “World Shotokan Karate-Do Federation (WSKF)” and “International Gosoku Ryu Karate-Do Association (IGKK)”. Under the guidance of several Indian and Japanese masters, Keshari’s expertise continued to grow and presently he holds 8th degree Black Belt (Hachi-dan) awarded to him by Japanese Grand Master Masahiro Motomura.
Formation of ISKK
Subsequently, as Bushikan Dojo’s presence expanded across multiple states in India, the International Shotokan Karate-Do Kyokai (ISKK) was founded under the leadership of Keshari, comprising instructors from various Bushikan dojo, which was recognized by the All India Karate-Do Federation, AIKF (now Karate India Organization, KIO), the Indian representative body of the World Karate Federation (WKF), since the year 2012.
International Recognition
After nearly four decades of tireless efforts, Keshari’s fame gradually grew and he received international recognition after the 2014 when two global organizations of senior Karate masters accepted him as one of their official members. One of these two global organizations is the “International Karate Masters Association (IKMA)”, having its headquarter in Hokkaido, Japan, while the other organization is the “International Seito Karate Kenkyukai (ISKK)”, which is based in Britain.
Mastering in Indigenous Martial Arts
India's rich heritage of martial arts dates back to ancient times, with traditional arts like "Thang-ta" and "Kalaripayattu" holding significant importance which are called as mother of all martial arts. It is noteworthy, that Ranjeet Keshari also has a good experience of practicing these indigenous martial arts and has the distinction of mastering these arts under the guidance of Thang-Ta Grand Master Oja Prem Kumar Singh and the famous guru of Kalaripayattu Sri Narayana Gurukkal. Kesari's mastery in these indigenous martial arts reflects his deep respect for India's ancient heritage."
Association with Bihar School of Yoga
Martial arts and Yoga are truly complementary practices that develop physical, mental and spiritual strength. The similarities between the two are astonishing, with many practices mirroring one another. To understand this synergy, Ranjeet Keshari became disciple of the world-famous organization of Yoga “Bihar School of Yoga (BSY)” where he had the privilege to deepen his understanding of transformative power of Yoga under the guidance of his holiness Swami Niranjananand Saraswati, awardee of Padma Bhushan (the third highest civilian award of India).
Official Coach at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), ISM Dhanbad, India's premier engineering institute, has appointed Ranjeet Keshari as its official Karate Coach. He trains budding engineers and faculty members, fostering discipline, focus, and physical fitness as well as self-defense.
